The Council of Advice is the final independent legislative advisor to Government and Parliament of Country Sint Maarten. Our objective is to enhance the quality of legislation and the administrative operation of our Country. Together with the Parliament, General Audit Chamber and Ombudsman, the Council of Advice is referred to as one of the High Councils of State. The High Councils of State are tasked with the advising or monitoring the different state institutions. The independence required to execute these tasks are established in the Constitution of Sint Maarten.

With the help of this website we would like to provide you with access to the advices from the Council.These advices are published on the website as soon as they are made available for publishing by the Minister of General Affairs. You will be able to read about the task, structure and working methods of the Council. We would also like to keep you abreast of all upcoming events. The website will also provide you with a list of draft legislation submitted to the Council for advice.
